We asked Eric, in the green shirt, Why Do you like to read?
“The financial capacity of my family can’t allow me to travel so that I can experience the world. Alternatively, I like to read because I can travel everywhere through reading.”
This Mother’s Day we honor all the mom’s who are committed to and actively participate in their children’s education; taking time to read to them and help them keep learning outside the classroom.
Karinganire on the left reading to his son
“Normally I used to be always busy with work trying to ensure the family’s financial stability. This affected my relationship with my son Julian. But after Rwinkwavu Community Library opened, I started to go there at least once a week to borrow a book and read to Julian in the library and at home. Since I started reading to my son my sociability with him has increased. Now he can tell me all of his feelings while he was not before.”
